Question

Editing old project in new version

Hi everyone,

I need some help and guidence.

I edited a project in Adobe Premier on an IMac about 4 months ago and am now trying to continue editing this project on my MacBook Pro. However, when I try to open the project I get the error message "The project was saved in a newer version of Adobe Premier and can not be opened in this version". I have updated the application on my MacBook to Adobe 15.4.1 and am still getting this error message.

Are there different versions for IMacs and Macbooks or what may the issue be?

Appreciate any help I can get.

No, there are no different versions for different Macs.

Did you by any chance use the beta version of Premiere Pro on the iMac? If that´s the case it explains the message since it is indeed newer than 15.4.1.

If no, create a brand new project on your MBP and import the old project file into the new project.

Hi Averdahl,

I did not use a beta version of Premier Pro on the iMac.

How would I go about importing the old project file into the new project? I tried creating a new project, clicking on the file tab and then import both the entire project and a specific sequence, but nothing works. Is there another way I'm meant to go about it?

What happens when you do that, error or nothing, or? If error, what does it say?
