Editing Transcription in the Text Window

In Windows version 24.6.1, edits made to the transcript are not saved. Restarting the application or rebooting the computer has no effect. This used to work perfectly. I tried exporting the transcript as a text file, making the corrections, and then reimporting, but then the import corrected transcript menu option was disabled.

Premiere is getting to be very frustrating to work in.
