Question

'Effect Controls' panel goes away after making any change in it.

Usually in Multicam situations, I'll start using a mask or changing the position of a clip in the Effect Controls panel, and as soon as I make any adjustment to anything in the Effect Controls panel, my timeline is instantly unselected and the Effect Control panel I was in goes away, and I then have to click on the video in the timeline to open it again. Can't express how much time this glitch causes me.

This is what it looks like: https://shared-assets.adobe.com/link/22d65f73-6090-4f94-5465-da928a5dae5d

This happens with any sequence settings, codec, frame rate and pixel dimensions, etc., so that doesn't seem to be a factor. I work with all sorts of clips, coming from all kinds of mediums.

Been seeing this problem for 2 years or more.

the link doesn't open for me.   also, you really need to give us more info about your source clips and your sequence settings including codec, frame rate and whether it's constant or variable, pixel dimensions, etc.  You might also tell us where the source clips come from and if this is a constant occurence if you use clips from another camera/source.
