Effects keep resetting (Premiere Pro becomes increasingly unreliable)

I know this has been asked before.

When I edit effects in Premiere Pro they keep resetting when I switch to another clip on the timeline.

So far I wasn’t able to find a pattern. It happens randomly and lately seems to happen more frequently. It’s getting to the point where Premiere Pro is becoming completely unreliable.

My current workaround is to copy&paste (or cut&paste) the effect I’ve been editing directly after making the changes. But that is tedious.

Has anybody found a solution? Does anyone know of a way to avoid this? Is there a fix on its way?
