Effects won't render without crashing

Hi, I've been having this issue for the past week: no effects will render for me anymore. At 1% I get the "A serious error has occured message" every single time I try to render, regardless of the project. I've restarted my computer, cleaned my cache, and I have plenty of disk space and memory. It happens to ALL effects that give me a red bar on the timeline, whether native or third-party. I don't know what's going on. Anyone else run into this? Specs: MacPro 6-core 3.5ghz w/ 32gb ram, OS X Yosemite 10.10.3. Running Premiere CC2017.1. Please help!

    Correct answer jrwing

** SOLVED ** Footage codec was PR422, and for whatever reason the sequence settings created from "New Sequence from Clip" made the video preview codec DNxHR/HD. By changing this back to PR422 the problem went away. Weird that it defaulted to DNx though. Meh.
