efficient way to warp stabilize some short clips from longer takes?

I want to use warp stabilizer on a 10 sec. clip in the timeline that came from a 60 sec. shot.

I get the feeling that all 60 seconds are being analyzed.  True or false?

So do I have to export these short kinds of clips and then stabilize them and then reimport them??
If so is there a preferred work flow? Preferred export parameters? Or any other smart

way to do this?  Thanks anyone, for tips.
