Encore - Subtitle colors won't update after export

Hello there. Encore is driving me nuts once again...

Yes, Encore, that relic from the past.

When updating the subtitle colors in the Timeline Color Sets, the monitor in Encore updates them just fine.

But after exporting this project to BD folder or iso, it still has the same old color.

It's a color that I set myself. I now need to change it. After deleting all the Timeline Color Sets, so only "Timeline default" is left, exported subtitles STILL have the older colors that I set a while ago...

This should not be since the monitor in Encore successfully gives me a preview of the colors that should be. But they are not.... I could change the Timeline Color Set default to blue, then after export the subtitles still are orange (I chose that color once).

It's a huge project so I can't start over with it...

Has anyone ever encountered someting like this?

Yes, try the preferences reset.

My quick test works fine: EN BD, changes subtitle fill color and exports same.

Are you sure you have the correct Subtitle setting for color set? I see no way to change that, once the subtitles are imported. You are importing a text file I assume?

"It's a huge project so I can't start over with it..." I hear you, but Encore could care less. Once a project is corrupt, Encore is terrible at recovering by trying to undo/fix things.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I tried resetting the preferences.

Did that. Upon that the project exported with the newly adjusted colors!

WORKED!

But with a twist:
When finetuning the colors then, exporting it again, they once more didn't change to the new color set...

I created a new very small project and tested. Same: Colors won't change.

I then closed Encore again and reset the preferences. Opened it, exported the project to ISO and BD folder: New colors now are part of the final project.

Curious...

So I changed the colors once more, THEN immediately saved and closed the project. Opened it again without resetting the preferences, ... exported fine with the new colors.

So:

Timeline color set - changes are only taken into account after saving the project and restarting the app...

Doesn't matter if it's my huge mammoth BD DL project, or a tiny DVD project with one short timeline...

I get more and more scared to use Encore but I guess after this project and updating the Mac to one of the newer OSs the era of Encore ends anyway...

This app-restart seems to be the solution for me.

Thank you so much for your help!

Maybe try re-setting preferences:

hold down Shift-Alt (Windows) or Shift-Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting. Release the Shift-Alt keys or Shift-Option key when the splash screen appears.
