Error message "the media cache directory was not found or is not writeable"

I just updated to Premiere pro 2023 on my M1 Macbook Pro.

When I open Premiere I get the message box "the media cache directory was not found or is not writeable..." Then when I try to import files to a project i get the 'import error' "The requested file(s) could not be imported." Its a standard audio (Wav) file i've used in previous projects on premiere 2022 so I know it's fine.

I have deleted my cache and changed the cache location to different places in documents but I still get these errors.

I have also allowed Premiere 2023 permission to control my computer but this hasnt fixed the problem. Can you help? Otherwise I'm paying for a program I can't use. Thanks.

I've seen this stuff before, Jack. Can you check on the Apple menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy? Make sure that all the files & folders related to Premiere Pro are enabled including where the cache files are located, and the app itself. This bit me too!

Hope the advice helps. Please let us know if it does. Have a nice weekend.
