Premiere did an auto update last night and now I'm getting these 2 errors my footage.

Frame substitutuion recursion attempt aborting after multiple attemps on File

and

Error retriving frame

This is a large project with 3 camera edit.  It's only giving me the error on my M2T files (sony Z1U camera)  Audio Plays, video doesn't.  But footage is not corrupt.  I can play it in VLC and other video players.

Any solutions

You are absolutely right. Version 14.3.2 was the last error-free release. Unfortunately, I spent many hours fighting the frame error with release 14.5. Almost every older project I called up experienced the same issue. My issues began with error messages about .m2v files that I overcame by recording to .mp4. Then the recoding failed, too. I am seriously ticked about Adobe's quality "control."

Yes, there doesn't seem to be any movement to solve peoples problems who
are paying to attempt to utilise failed software.
All my problems started with a Premiere Pro upgrade. 1 hour before the
upgrade, everything was fine. 1 hour after, any attempt to work had been
sabotaged. Yet if you point out, that that was the sequence of events you
get the response of
1) the problem must rest with your system
2) nobody else is getting your problem
3) there shouldn't be a problem, therefore there isn't a problem
4) there is nothing we can do about it.

I swapped from Final Cut Pro to Adobe Premier Pro...... now may be the time
to swap back, as the corporate will to address the consumers problems just
doesn't seem to exist in the Adobe Univers...

premiere allows you to have multiple versions on your system so rolling back should not be an issue.  It is unrealistic to expect adobe to be able to test every variety of hardware out there...  And updates often have more stringent hardware requirements.   No one in this thread has provided us with their system specs...  which might give us a clue as to what their problem is.   cootan01 asked how to roll back to an earlier version of premiere.  In the creativecloud app,  opposite the appropriate premiere pro version, click on the elipsis and choose other versions.

I rolled back to version 14.3.2 and problem solved.... the update is not a good update...would not recommend installing until this bug is fixed.
