Error Retrieving Frame [Problem is my computer, please help narrow down my issue]

Hi,

Oftentimes, but not all the time, when I am transcoding proxies for weddings I shoot, media encoder and premiere will be unable to complete the transcode and I will receive an Error Retrieving Frame notice. This exclusively happens on longer clips, generally over 12gb in size (but not always on the largest ones).  I have narrowed this problem down to my computer set up, but am hoping someone can help me pinpoint the issue and help with a solution.

The problematic clips are generally XAVC-HS 4:2:2 10-bit Log files from the Sony FX3 or XAVC-L 4:2:0 8-Bit Log MXF files from the Sony FX6.

All of the clips are located on a healthy NVME ssd (Samsung 990 Pro).

I successfully transcoded a problematic clip using my Macbook Pro, which showed me that it is not a camera issue or a software issue.

Problematic Computer Specs:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz
Installed RAM 64.0 GB

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB

Studio Driver 566.14

Windows 10 Pro
Version 22H2
OS build 19045.5131
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19060.1000.0

Thanks in advance.

Hi @doobysquish -  We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.

What version of Premiere Pro are you using?  There have been updates in version 25 for MXF files with this problem.

Make sure you have enough space on your drives. You might need 3x as much as the files you are creating.

What type of proxies are you creating?

Here's a new observation. At the moment of failure, my CPU suffers an enormous spike.
