Error When Importing Files

I've been getting an error message when importing certain files to Premiere Pro on my MacBook Pro. Every time I've tried to upload an audio file that I'm using for a video it gives me an error message saying "We were unable to open the file on disk." I've seen solutions for this problem on Windows but none for Mac. Is there a known solution to this?

Make sure the file is not in use by another program.

It isn't, I already re-downloaded the file so it shouldn't be in use by any programs

Hi Evan218801019umm,

We're sorry to hear about this. Are you experiencing this issue with any specific file format or is it happening with multiple formats? Also, have you tried moving the file to any other location (like a folder on the desktop) & checked if it's importing from there?

Thanks,

Sumeet

So far it's only happening with a specific mp3 file, I tried a few other mp3 files as well as other file types. I also tried moving it to the desktop but it gave me the same error. I also tried re-downloading the file but that didn't work either
