Essential Graphics, Cinema 4d render, crash

I have an Essential Graphics problem. I have created a template in After Effects. The template simply consists of a super that is rendered as a 3D object. It uses the Cinema 4D renderer in After Effects, which requires that After Effects must also be installed on the editing machine that will use the template in premiere. The template opens in Premiere, but crashes every time. When I tested creating a template that only used the regular 3D renderer in After Effects, it didn't crash. Have I misunderstood that Cinema 4D render is compatible with Essential G?
