Question

Essential Graphics panel has too much empty space

The new Essential Graphics panel has an excessive amount of empty space which causes it to require vertical scrolling. The controls need to be condensed and reduced in size to take up less vertical space. Constantly having to scroll between the top and bottom of the new panel is a bit maddening, especially since this is supposed to be the replacement interface for the legacy titler's controls. Even with the panel at 2/3 the total vertical size of my 1080p screen, it forces me to scroll back and forth. With more efficient use of the space, it would easily fit vertically with room to spare until I go really crazy with graphic layers.

I agree on this. It's way way way too clunky for fast iterations inside Premiere.

Here's my take:

- Make it as compact as the "normal" effects and motion panels.

- Add an option to only show values without sliders.

- Add reset buttons which will make values reset to the template's saved state as default value.

- Remove the

I think these type of UI annoyances are one of the big things I'd like to see improved in Premiere. The height of the EGP (I'm looking at it with a title selected) could be at least halved, if the controls would be condensed together more. E.g. the font dropdown takes up the whole width of the panel, where that vertical space could be combined with font style or size.

I also wish they could implement a few "auto fit" features where the panels could be auto-scaled to fit everything and reduce the number of clicks and wheel scrolls to find things. That would work perfectly here by sucking away all of the excess grey space between controls on the panel.

I agree, screen real estate is essential. We should try to optimize what we can. in the meantime we should mention that workspace presets are a good practice for these type of problems. same as you arrange your imports through the "Assembly" workspace, that docks the project and media browser fully vertical to the right, the "Graphics" workspace does the same with EGP fully open docked to the right. you might want to adopt this workspace when working at your title.

don't forget to submit these ideas.

I hear ya! at least they got the horizontal right! you can comfortably narrow it down until it's nothing. you should count your blessings, Ae's EGP is worse because it's not even allow much horizontal squeezing we'd be happy to have premiere's EGP.
