Esssential Graphics unusable after update - activates keyboard shortcuts instead of typing

Question

I updated this morning and tried to edit some motion graphics text -- keyboard shortcuts started activating instead editing of my highlighted text. A space made it start playing, Other examples Letters Y, R, V etc. are unable to be typed at all because it activates slip tool, etc. instead. This is insanely frustrating!!

Windows 11, Premiere Pro 24.2.1 showed the issue.

Reverted back to 24.1.0 and it works as expected.

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
