Question

Estimated resulting project size is smaller than the final folder

Hey guys, I have this problem with project. I want to copy everything I used to one folder, so obviously I went for project manager option. The problem is, the manager estimates it to be 50GB but when I start to copy, it fills my free 90GB and then stops with error.

 

 

Why is the estimation so off? I have some After effects compositions linked to it, also some nested clips. And I use proxies. Could it be it? What is the best way to back up this project without using the buggy project manager?

Sounds like it actually needs the space. Unfortunately, estimates aren't always complete. 

You'll need to get some more storage. 

Their estimation algorithm could probably be improved, but they've got better things to fix.

That's the weird part. Original project has 100GB. I used only like 1/3 of the files. What could enlarge the size that much?
