Every time I import my 24-bit 48hz audio into Premiere Pro, it sounds muddy

I think this is because the sequence settings in the latest Premiere Pro force you to use 32-bit float. But I don't understand why they can't offer other bit depths.

Does anyone else have this problem? I would appreciate any tips.
