Existing footage in Premiere Pro from After Effects glitches when re-export/updating/saving from AE

I have a .mov files in my timeline that were orignially created in After Effects. When I want to make changes to the .mov file, I go into After Effects, make the changes, and re-export the .mov with the same file name. In Premiere Pro, this footage does not update seamlessly... it will gitch, flip upside down, and the only fix is to restart Premiere Pro. After restarting Premiere Pro the updated footage loads fine.

Is there a proper way to refresh these .mov files in Premiere Pro so this doesn't happen?

I have tried "Reload Footage", and that doesn't work. I can't use the Linked Comps when big projects start taking up too much space, so I have to export indivudal .mov files.

I don´t know if this will solve anything, but if i have a mov clip in Premiere Pro that has been created with After Effects and need to change the clip i select the clip in Premiere Pro and go to Edit > Edit Original or just Ctrl+E.

This will automagically laucnh After Effects, open the project, add the Ae Composition to the Render Queue with the same settings used when the original clip were created. When done editing the clip in After Effects, just render out the clip from the Render Queue in Ae. You don´t have to change the path of the file. Alt+TAB back to Premiere Pro when done and the clip should auto-update.
