Question

export clip with one of four audio channels muted

Hi, I need to export entire clips from Project in PP 2020 for transcription purposes. On channel 1 there is audio timecode, that I want to mute. I open the clip in the source monitor and pull the channel 1 slider in the clip audio-mixer down. On export media, with or without Media Encoder, there is no audio on the exported clip. No matter what export settings and codecs I use. If I don't touch the audio mixer, the sound on the exported clip is there (but unusable due to the audio timecode signal). A bug? How to work around this? Thanks for any advice.

can you post a short clip?

And you could create a sequence for each clip and just mute channel 1.  Not the best solution, but should work

select the clip in the bin and go to clip:  modify:  audio channels.  Not particularly intuitive but play with your options and you should be able to do what you want.

Thanks. But that is what I already did. If I deselect channel 1 or reverse the order of 1 and 2, it has no effect on the exported clip. The channels there are exactly the same.

My workaround is now to do it in Final Cut Pro and Compressor.
