Hi all,

After updating to Premiere Pro 25.2.1 (Build 2), I'm encountering the "Error code -1609629695" during export. The issue occurs specifically when using Lumetri Color adjustments and CUDA rendering.

System Specs:

  • Laptop: Alienware x17 R2

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro

  • CPU: Intel Core i9-12900HK @ 2.50 GHz

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU

  • RAM: 64 GB

  • Driver: NVIDIA Studio Driver 576.02

What I've Tried:

  • Switching from CUDA to OpenCL allows export without error.

  • Cleared media cache – no effect.

  • Updated NVIDIA drivers – already current.

  • Narrowed it down to Lumetri Color:

    • Applying a Log-to-Rec709 LUT in the "Creative" section works fine.

    • Any manual adjustments (exposure, contrast, curves, etc.) trigger the error.

  • No other effects applied.

  • Same error occurs when exporting through Media Encoder.

  • Tested with a very short clip, so it's not a system resource issue.

Full Error Message:

Error compiling movie.

Accelerated Renderer Error

Unable to produce frame.

Writing with exporter: H.264
Writing to file: (removed for privacy)
Writing file type: H264
Around timecode: 00:00:00:05 - 00:00:00:16
Rendering at offset: 0.209 seconds
Component: H.264 of type Exporter
Selector: 9
Error code: -1609629695

Would really appreciate any insight or confirmation if others are seeing this as well. It feels like a regression with Lumetri + CUDA on this latest update.

Thanks!

Hi @Jack382278243vuw -
Thanks for submitting your bug report.

We’re working to address the kinds of issues that are typically resolved by switching to software rendering. Would you be able to send me just your project file so we can take a closer look and help troubleshoot? You can email it to jamiec@adobe.com

Have you tried updating your GPU driver to the latest version currently 576.52?

In most cases it is an order of effects so you need to nest one of your clips with an effect on it.
