Question

Export settings dialogue box slow to respond

Hello,

I have been having this issue for awhile on Premiere Pro 13, when I go to export a project by clicking File>Export>Export Media or using the ctl+m shortcut, the dialogue box lags for a 10-15 seconds and shows "not responding" on the top of the window before opening. This will also happen when changing settings in the dialogue box. When I was using Premiere 12 this issue was not apparent, I am not sure what has happened. Editing and exporting work fine after all the settings are changed. CPU and Memory usage stays below 20%, while this is occurring.

I realize that this is not a major issue, but it is an annoyance I was wondering if anyone had an ideas to fix. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere and Adobe Cloud.

System:

Intel Core i7-7700HQ

16GB RAM

Windows 10 64 Bit

Editing Drive: 1TB Sandisk SSD

    Hey folks,

I am facing the same issue. I have no problems with rendering, but whenever I click on Export or try to open the export window, it takes forever. If I want to change the export preset, it takes a couple of minutes to reflect. I didn't face this issue in 2021 or 2022, but I am experiencing it in 2023. I completely uninstalled all the Adobe apps and reinstalled them, but it hasn't helped.

System Requirements have increased significantly in v.13. It's possible it may be related that your system is currently fairly underpowered compared to version 12, especially if attempting to edit 4K.

    Try a Disk Defrag.

    Jim,

Thanks for the advice, however, disk de-fragmentation also did not solve the issue.

    Hi forsterem,

Sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. Please try to reset app preferences to isolate any preference corruption issue that could be causing the app to misbehave.

FAQ: How to reset (trash) preferences in Premiere Pro?

    Thanks,

    Sumeet

    Any other ideas?

    Thank you,
