Question

export to media encoder shows media offline while PrePro Export tap works fine

I have project that I am exporting. It is one long video file.

I am just adding subtitles and captions.

It works fine in PrePro 26 AND 25.

I can export via the PrePro Export tab and all works fine.

However when I export via MediaEncoder the video file says “offline”. It is not offline.

It all works fine in PrePro.

I have tried linking.. relinking.. taking offline.. putting back online.. moving the fine.. renaming.all to no avail.

It all works fine in PrePro, just not when exporting to Media Encoder.

Any ideas?

    Hi Steadman,

Sorry to hear about this issue. Let us know the exact version of Premiere & Media Encoder that you are using. Are the media files used in the project saved in any network location?

    Thanks,

    Sumeet

    Hello,
This usually happens because of a communication "glitch" between the two apps where Media Encoder fails to see the active link Premiere Pro has established. Since your file is definitely online, the quickest fix is to bypass the "Queue" button—instead, open Media Encoder independently and drag your project file directly into its queue, or use File > Add Premiere Pro Sequence. If that doesn't work, clearing your Media Cache or ensuring both Premiere and Media Encoder are updated to the exact same version usually clears up these "offline" ghosts.

    Best regards,
