Export window isn't defaulting to Source In/Out when In/Out points are used

The Premiere Pro Export window isn't defaulting to Source In/Out when In/Out points are used. Furthermore, it seems to be reverting back to ‘Entire Source’ almost at random. I have to make sure I check that it’s on Source In/Out.

My understanding is that Premiere is supposed to check whether In/Out points are being used and set the source accordingly? This doesn’t seem to be working in my case.

FYI I don’t use the Work Bar Area.

Premiere Pro MacOS 26.3.0 (Build 93)

MacOS Tahoe 26.5.2

With a clip, Premiere Pro sets the Range to Source In/Out by default.

With a sequence, Premiere Pro only checks for In/Out points the very first time you export it. If you have In/Out points set at that moment, you get Source In/Out. If not, you get Entire Source.

From then on, Premiere Pro remembers whatever Range you used the last time you exported that sequence. Adding or changing In/Out points later won't change it.

If a sequence started out on Entire Source, it will keep coming back to that until you switch the Range yourself and click Export. Once you do, the new setting sticks for that sequence.

    I don’t agree.

“With a sequence, Premiere Pro only checks for In/Out points the very first time you export it. If you have In/Out points set at that moment, you get Source In/Out. If not, you get Entire Source.”

It’s not checking for In/Out points the first time I export a clip. As I mentioned, I always set In/Out points but I’m seeing that Premiere Pro is rarely if ever selecting Source In/Out on the Export dialogue window.

I think it just sets what it was last time. I just set some in/out points, went to Export and it said entire sequence. So, I selected source in/out. Left that screen and back to Edit, went in again, was same, back to Edit, cleared the edit points and into export and it still said source in/out.

Hmm odd, because I never want to use ‘entire source’ but am constantly finding that I need to turn this back to Source In/Out.

Leaving a note here so people know that this is not the correct answer, since this is not the behaviour I’m seeing. There might be a bug stopping this from working.

I think there is a random bug with in/out and work area bar

set export. I’m also experiencing random changes in work area bar

set duration when going to export. Never gone through this before.

Yes I believe there is a bug here. I always have In/Out points on my sequence but often see the export window preference ‘Entire Source’.

The issue is that I always have In/Out points on my sequence, yet I’m consistantly seeing the Export window preference ‘Entire Source’ instead of In/Out, hence the bug report.
