Export Workflow With Track Variations

Question

Hi

I created an Premier project with Motion Graphics, Effects and Picture-In-Picture ( Video in Video ). I'll call this the template.

Inside the Template I will likely have 10 different Video-In-Video. Currently I have two options for exporting:

Option 1:

1: Export

2: Replace file in File-System with the next video

3: Export

4: Repeat steps 2 to 3 for each video

Option 2:

1: Load all Piciture In Picture onto different tracks

2: Hide all tracks but the desired tracks

3: Export

4: Repeat steps 2 to 3 for each video-in-video track

Not only will I need to do this with the first 10 videos I have - I will need to repeat this each time I receive the next 10 videos. additionally I have 5 different templates.

I'm looking for a way to automate this as much as possible. Ideally I would be able to do something like this:

1: Create the template

2: Create 10 tracks for each Picture-In-Picture variation

3: Export Automation Tool:

a: Seleet export format

b: Repeat export options. Select tracks to hide / display on first export. Select tracks to hide / display on second export... etc....

4: Select the Automaion I've created and wait for the magic to happen

5: The next time I receive new videos - replace the 10 picture-in-picture videos in the file system- - open the template - Select the Automaion I've created and wait for the magic to happen

I hope the above makes sense. I've looked online without luck. Is there a way to do this in Premier or is the an Extension available which will do this?

My last resort will be to try the Automator app on Mac.

It might be fastest to duplicate the template sequence 10 times, then in each one just quickly replace the PiP video with the next one from the bin -- while holding down the OPTION (Mac) or ALT (Win) key. This will force the new clip to take on the attributes of the PiP clip (scale, position, etc.) Then you can just batch export all 10 to Media Encoder.

Alternately, you can nest the PiP video layer then add all 10 videos into the nest. Solo track 1, send the main video sequence to Media Encoder, then go back to the nest and solo track 2, send to ME, etc. The file you batch to ME will remember the state of each video layer when it was sent into the queue so each one will be unique. Kind of depends on which method you think will be faster (for me it would be #1).
