Exporting 8 Channel Audio in Premiere 2018

Since Adobe has updated Premiere, exporting in Quicktime H.264 is no longer an option. Quicktime is the only codec that seems to allow 8 channel audio exporting that I know of, but now since there is no H.264 for Quicktime I can't get a file small enough by limiting bit rate with 8 channel audio to be able to send to my client through WeTransfer. Is there a better codec that allows 8 channel audio export besides Quicktime but that can also have the bit rate limited so the file isn't huge?

Try the GoPro Cineform codec within Quicktime and set the Quality to 1 (Low), 2 (Medium) or 3 (High). See my Output/Source Summary for 8 Channels.  Maybe that will limit your file size.  Of course you also have to visit the Audio tab and configure the export to be 8 channels too.  If a H.264 is mandatory then wash this output through Handbrake.

You can use EditReady to convert an 8 channel master with multiple tracks (choose H264 & AAC pass through).

Beware that, if you import the resulting file, PPro doesn’t correctly map the tracks (A3 appears as A1, A1asA2 etc)
