Question

Exporting MPEG2-TS .MPG

Hi,

In older versions of Premiere, I think 2021 and prior, you could export a sequence as MPEG-2 Transport Stream without using the .m2s file extension. I can't seem to figure it out again in Premiere 2022, and I've lost my export preset.

Is there still a way to do this? I've tried using the MPEG Multiplexer, but I keep ending up with Program Streams.

These files are for playback in a TV station's playout server, and hadn't required transcoding on their end before I updated. They have issues playing back anything other than MPEG-2 TS files, and while I can change the extension from .m2s to .mpg, I didn't have to before, and it adds what seems like an unnecessary step.

Thanks in advance!

Hi shaburnburn,

Good to hear from you. Sorry about your problem, though.

In older versions of Premiere, I think 2021 and prior, you could export a sequence as MPEG-2 Transport Stream without using the .m2s file extension. I can't seem to figure it out again in Premiere 2022, and I've lost my export preset.

I'm not sure but have you tried creating a new Encoding Preset in Media Encoder? There are some options there that may help with your specific output format. If that is not working either, let me know.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi again,

I heard back from the product team: They asked, "Did you mean .m2t? If so, you can create a file like that if you go to the Multiplexer tab of Export Settings and set Multiplexing to TS.

I hope that info helps.

Thanks,
Kevin
