Exporting to H.264 high bit rate or H.264 for Vimeo

What is the difference between exporting to H.264 High Bit Rate versus exporting to H.264 Vimeo?

In other words, is there a different compression algorithm when exporting for Vimeo?

I did notice when I tried to project an H.264 Vimeo file onto a big screen, that the resolution looked soft.

Thanks!

Just expanding on Jeff's comments, ALL presets are simply "compilations of settings". So it's easy to simply go down through all the tabs of any export setting and see what options have been chosen.

There aren't any under-cover "special sauces" ... just the options listed.

And as far as exporting for Y-T or Vimeo or whatnot, I know of people that say use Cineform, ProRes, or DNx variants after testing because of finding that in their case, from their location/ISP, and whatnot, they get better final image quality even though the upload process is a lot longer.

So you can try a number of things. And ... as always, test.

Check the bitrate. The Vimeo preset likely matches the recommended spec from Vimeo which may be lower than you want.
