Exporting Transparent background

Hello!!

I was trying to create a video with a transparent background and then export it into captivate and have it over some things on the slide. However, in doing my research i can see that i need to export as a quicktime file with an alpha channel. That works, except, captivate can't read that file and wants to convert it to an mp4, so then that transparent background goes away.... any one have any idea of what to do? or have done anything like this before?

I would start in the other end, iow check in the forum for Captivate to see if it even supports transparent video and if yes, check out the specs that Captivate requires for transparent video. When all that info is in place, come back here and get help on how to export video codec X to a file. 🙂

that's the other hard part, the website isn't updated. It says it accept things like .FLV and .mov but it really doesn't when I try.

It may not be possible because prores is a .mov file as well.

Mov is just a wrapper, it is the codec that counts.

Did you try Quicktime with the animation codec?

yes, that works until I try and import it into captivate and it only wants MP4. 😞
