Exporting XML or AAF with Nested Clips and/or effects applied (NOT WORKING)

I'm quite frustrated right now.

It seems that there is no solution to exporting an XML/AAF to either Davinci Resolve or ProTools that will encompass my nested clips and/or my effects. Specifically the speed of a clip.

I've had to go through my entire timeline of nested clips, un-nesting, in order to deliver something to my Sound Team and my color team.

I've even had to export certain clips and re-insert them in order to keep the effects placed on Nested Clips.

Not only that, but any effect I've added to a clip also does not translate.

How is it, that there is no solution for an entire workflow?

I don't think I'll ever nest a clip again.

But beyond that, I'd like to slow down my clips.

I'd like to be able to slow down a clip and have it translate to the XML.

What are we missing here? How can we create a better communication between these programs?

Thank you

I work for/with/teach pro colorists, mostly based in Resolve. So I work in Resolve daily also. And ... am part of the massive conform discussions among pro colorists and Fx people on a routine basis.

Most colorists have rather detailed pdf's on how to prep an export from the NLE to their system. Whether it's coming from Premiere, Avid, or Resolve, and going to Resolve or Baselight. So check with your colorist to get their sheet on this, and the same with your sound people.

XML, EDL, and AAFs are all rather old tools. And none of them can translate like speed ramps or most effects from any NLE to another. None of these apps have exactly the same effect with the same controls and underlying code, so ... how could they?

I'm including a link to their 'long form' guide, which does cover some things that are HUGE in cross-app professional workflows. Including never using Merge Clips, issues with nesting, avoiding "Scale to ...", graphics, and other things.
