Hi, does premiere have a external monitor button or hotkey like after effects which is forward slash to toggle the preview on the monitor?

Yes, called "Mercury Transmit". It's in the Preferences/Playback dialog.

It's available as a keyboard short but you need to manually set it. Edit/Keyboard and type in "Transmit" should get the option showing.

I have it set for Shift-C.

After Effects hotkey for External Monitor can be found using the word External and assigning it in the keyboard shortcuts menu.

Actually, it does!  No edit function on this forum is killing me.

After all these years of it working, the option is now gone.  Does it have a different name?

Ah, found it.  It's called Show Current Frame on Monitor.
