Question

external monitor display is behind

I have a tv mounted on the wall that has wifi built in. On my iMac desktop I click "screen mirroring" and select the tv so that the producer behind me can see what my computer sees.  but whatever is coming out of the tv seems like it slightly behind and shows the dialogue slightly out of sync. (not just that but the audio is coming out of the tv now instead of the iMac). Does anyone know how to make the tv mirror the timeline to the exact frame/second so that the tv doesnt look like its lagging?

@rachelcenter If you are mirroring over WiFi, there will always be a lag. Essentially what is happening is that for each frame of video that the Mac makes for you main display, it is now compressing that frame and streaming it over the WiFi to the TV. There is (at least with current technology) no way to do that without introducing a noticeable lag.

The solution is to use an HDMI cable directly from the Mac to the TV. Then the Mac can send the same frame to your display and the TV at the same time and they will be in sync because no additional processing is happening like there is for the WiFi streaming.
