EXTREME UI latency with text based editing in Multicam Sequence

Sorry, if this has been asked elsewhere, but I'm experiencing extremely high UI latency when editing from the transcription from a Multicam sequence (we're talking 20 - 60 seconds PER very small, one word edit.) Is there any documentation or best practices for using these features together?

Mutlicam Sequences and text based editing are amazing concepts, but only if they make things faster. At this rate I might as well just do it all by hand
