Extremely Laggy Timeline on 24.1
Hello,
I'm running on a 2020 iMac and just recently updated to macOS Sonoma. Before I updated, I was on the latest version of Ventura and Premiere (24.1) was running smoothly then.
However, when I updated to Sonoma, now Premiere doesn't run like it should. The timeline, and even the VU meters, are both very laggy upon playback even though the video in the program monitor runs smoothly. Even zooming in and out on the timeline is borderline unresponsive.
I know this isn't a video codec issue because I'm using high res ProRes 422 proxies and it still acts like this. Even when I just have audio on the timeline with no video in the project whatsoever, I still get the same laggy timeline and VU meters (not as bad as with video, but still annoyingly laggy).
Again, everything was fine when I was on Ventura, but when I updated to Sonoma, Premiere started acting like this.
I found that when I version back to Premiere v23.6.2 it doesn't have a problem. Only v24.1 acts like this. I'm sure this has to be a bug of some kind because my machine is more than capable of handling the type of video I'm working with as it's been able to handle it for years now. Is this a known issue with a fix coming at some point?
