It has happened to me more than once that the timeline started fast-forwarding without my intervention. Why does it happen, and how can I slow the pace back to normal?

Hi arie_5989,

Are you still experiencing this issue? If so, you may also want to check if the Shuttle Right key (default shortcut: L) was accidentally pressed twice, as this can also result in fast-forward playback.
