Feature Request - create multicam source sequence from clips via API scripting

I know it has been asked in 2017 I think, but is a function for creating a multicam source sequence (and the different methods) on imported clips on the roadmap somehow? Would like to mark this as a feature request.

Bruce, hope you are well.

Was this ever implemented?

We need to use a hefty workaround now by our integrator, by using a PPro instance opening and closing for every clip to make this multicam clip. Not a very nice solution to be honest.

tnx

BeemB,

Wow ... that seems like something that shoulda been there in the original construction of the app, doesn't it? Although most of us don't use scripting, being able to script an MC sequence rather than going through the steps each time would be a big timesaver for a larger shop ... or one with the wondrous "tool" of a person with scripting skills ...

As my epistemology professor was fond of pointing out, using the word "Should" drags us away from the world of facts, into the realm of moral philosophy. 🙂

PPro's API has always grown via specific requests from partners and customers. And, yes, it's taken us longer than we would have liked, to put APIs around multi-cam creation/manipulation.

Anyone reading say military history will see a ton of "In retrospect, we shoulda ... " comments. I think it's called Being Human?

My last "job" employed by someone else, was driving a bus and field-supervising 40 kids in a crew picking strawberries ... June of 1978. In 40+ years of running our own businesses, my wife and I have had so freaking many "hmmm ... shoulda done ... " thoughts there's no way to count them.

And we still run into this near daily ...

Hi Martin! I've added your vote (and Justin's) to DVAPR-4207094.

Could you explain what you're doing currently? Premiere can do a fair number of things in auto-creating multicams ... I'm curious what the particular problem is.

Feature Requests are best posted on the Premiere User Voice Forum Are you talking about scripting access to multicam source sequence setup or just through the UI? Because you can currently create a multicam source sequence from clips easily in Premiere through the Project panel UI.
