FEEDBACK AND SUGGESTIONS TO ADOBE STORY & ADOBE SPARK!

Dear Sir/Madame, of the staff within Adobe, the developers, the testers, the forum members I suppose too...

I had a quick squeeze at Adobe's products over a very long time.  But for this discussion thread I just want to discuss some basic matters in relations to 'Adobe Story' & 'Adobe Spark'!

Adobe story seems to be over-simplistic in features.  Features that well schooled movie directors working in teams could achieve to an equitable level (without the adjusting) on apps like 'Evernote', 'OneNote', third party softwares I care not to mention (even the Office Suite!), and even apps in the Google store which adds the further flexibility of working on a movie script whilst on the way to work in-so-of-speak!

Sure, putting camera angles might seem great, and the division of chapters and further categorizations.  I am not too sure about the script side of things, but I have only written three movie scripts in my life and I never made an attempt to publish or profit from them in any way.  I know that the industry likes to impose rules so that when an inspiring film producer needs to consult a professional skilled in writing a business proposal plan, or a film grant, this to angel investors or what not, the other side of the spectrum appreciates seeing things that are rigidly organized to a standard.  And that is where Adobe seems to have done such a good job, and that is in attempting to set a standard for story compilation - although I can warrant you that MANY folk out there will see it as quite useless; mayhap it is who you know and not what you know in the first place.

Ok, Adobe story took intrigue for me for I have a couple of close friends who are film producers with some screenings on their belt.  I had to see what all the commotion was about.  I could not download the files in the trial, and I assume each manuscript can be edited by multiple screen writers simultaneously whilst still informing other editors in a live stream of the changes, right?  If this is not a feature then maybe it should be.  I also believe, in contrast to standard practice, that the placement of non-intrusive pictures be deemed appropriate if scant and strategically placed.  I did not see a feature to put any graphics in, not even a company logo or organization brand.  Of course, I spent more time chatting live with a consultant just to close my Adobe Stock account debit card than I did perusing the whole repertoire (it was a few hours...).

Another issue is the price...  If you keep the application as is, why not charge a simple AUD$9 yearly fee?  I was going to say lifetime but then that didn't seem very economical.  But one thing is for sure is that you would captivate to all of the youths in the world, whose brains yet uncorrupted by the vile nature of reality would readily pay $9p/yr just to pursue their hobby of screenplay writing on their time off from school - probably to better levels than many adults (in some cases).

I skimmed though the forum before typing this, and I also noticed some other suggestions by other members, ie:  PDF implementation, compatibility issues, flexibility, pleas for HOW-TO-DO HELP (I think the provision of a small eBook in *.pdf format explaining all the features should be compulsory for every service of Adobe), and etc...   I suppose one could justify paying USD$9 a month by truly loading it with features!  As a benchmark use Microsoft Word but instead of including all the glamourizing features included in Word one's objective would be to optimize the software to appeal to the needs of screenwriters, this in this professional edition.  There could be buttons to forums for bidding on projects, ways to make a partial part of the project visible to the public whilst under construction (to get funding while it is being completed), links and features on contract making agreements, mayhap protocols in the media industry for each country in question.  I will cease it here, I want to sleep.

But I do have to congratulate Adobe on 'Adobe Spark'.  A completely free tool (asides from the discreet ads when sharing either to Facebook or Twitter) that could maybe charge $0.50 (50 cents) per image created and downloaded on someone's PC.  There was no feature to download our 'post', but one could also take a snipping tool and take a copy, albeit without the immense resolution.  I would recommend two other social media platforms to add to the sharing of Adobe Spark; and that is Instagram, and Tumblr.  I won't mention the myriad of other ones because I do not believe it would suit the internet socio-cultural balance of things.  Adobe Sparks is FREE!  That is super!  A *.pdf eBook explaining all the plausible features again would be a much desired necessity.  Even an aged veteran can miss a thing or two when testing some new software and reading is best.

Sorry, if any of these scribblings of advice are reached by Adobe's developers or strategic team could you take into account my handle below and then email me back what was implemented.  I desire no money for these ideas.  I just collect successful feedbacks to companies/organizations, as a non-active hobby of mine, highly situational, but I have about 8 prestigious companies on my belt.  It would be an honour to be listened by Adobe; I have been using your software since childhood but back then we bought and kept what we purchased.

Yours caring,

NemesisC128

Hi NemesisC128,

Thanks for your detailed feedback! Really appreciate you taking the time and effort to share it.

I'll forward this post to the engineering team. However, this is best suited for Product Management and you can share it with them here.

Best,

Rameez
