File Importer Error when recording audio within Premier pro

I'm trying to record my narration for a video using the record fucntion within premier pro. When trying to do this it will record, I can see it's picking up the recording but when I stop recording a the audo appears but there is no waveform and I get the error 'File importer detected an inconsistency in the file structure of [file name]. Reading and writing this files metadata (xmp) has been disabled.

At first I thought it was because I was using a new mic setup - Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 with a Rode NT1 signature mic. I made sure it was set up as the preffered mic on the voice over record settings on the track as well as the Audio preferences, but the same problem has been occuring even when using my in-built laptop mic.

I've cleared cache, created a new project, tested with other projects, moved the project to a new location incase it was to do with disk space and constantly the same error appears when trying to record audio.

I have no idea what else to try. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Rebecca30502930ll2k,

Thanks for the question. It may be something amiss with your Project Settings. Check out the Scratch Disk Setitings for "Captured Audio" and note the location. Does it have enough disk space? If you have a Mac, is that disk available in Settings > Privacy and Security? Let us know. I hope we can help you troubleshoot this issue. Sorry for the issue.

Thanks,
Kevin
