File problems after saving Premiere Project on external drive with Time Machine

.This is my first CS project I am working on a big movie project in Premiere Pro and I was making 3 regular backups to 3 separate external G Drives so I can store them in different locations for safety. I can do image tagging with Adobe Bridge on my primary backup, but on the two safety backups that contain Mac Time Machine backups of the project, I cant.

When I try to open these project backups with CS I am unable to tag images in Bridge and I get a metadata error on the image file.

As I am able to tag fine on the primary backup I am guessing that there must be another way to save copies of the project to an external drive not using Time Machine that will give me a working copy. Any advice appreciated.

Correct answer Peru Bob

Instead of formally creating "backups," just copy the necessary files to the external hard drive.

I would second Bob's advice.  Disable any automatic backup tools.  Just use Finder to copy files to backup locations.

Thank you!

Doing  a copy/paste of the project to back it up on the external drive solved the problem. Using the Time Machine to create the backups seems to have been the cause of the problem. Appreciate the advice.
