Film Impact typewriter will not apply to the beginning of a clip

I am trying to use the typewriter effect in Film Impact. It has all of a sudden stopped allowing me to apply it to the beginning of a clip. It will only appear at the end of the text, and the setting to adjust the alignment is greyed out. I’m using Premiere 26.3 on a Mac running Tahoe 26.5.2.

    Hi Jason,

    Thanks for reporting this.

This isn't expected behavior. The Typewriter effect should allow you to animate from the beginning of the text, and the Alignment control should be available when appropriate.

    Could you let us know:

    • Does this happen in all projects, including a brand-new one?

    • Does it affect all text layers, or only a specific title?

    • Did this start after updating to Premiere Pro 26.3 or macOS Tahoe 26.5.2?

    Also, if you could share:

    • A screenshot of the Effect Controls panel with the Typewriter effect selected.

    • A short screen recording showing the effect only animating from the end of the text and the Alignment option being greyed out.

That will help us determine whether this is a regression in the Film Impact Typewriter effect or a project-specific issue.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Hi @jason_lekberg did you ever get your effect sorted? We want to make sure you got the answer you needed.

Let us know if any of the suggestions in this thread is helpful.

Is the clip on its own track, or is it alongside other clips on the same track?

For example, if the clip before it has no additional media at its tail, meaning it's already at the end of its available footage, you won't be able to apply a transition to the beginning of the next clip.

You may want to contact Film Impact’s tech support. Is  there a reason why you’re not using the typewriter Preset effects from After Effects?
