Final Video playing in VLC - but not in Windows Media Player

Hi there,

it seems there is an aftermath to the problem I encountered yesterday with the footage getting blown out on export.

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/footage-gets-blown-out-on-export/td-p/12628356

several people correctly stated that it has to do with the new color management in adobe and I solved the problem by using H264 codec and selecting "H264 - Match Source - HLG" in the lower field.

The footage after rendering now was no longer blown out and the whites were correctly illuminated not too bright.

However, I now got a notice from a colleague, that as though the video plays correctly in VLC player, in Windows Media Player it does not.

The video does not start nor gets wrong colours, the player just stays black and does not start.

Is this a problem I can solve on my side of the island or do we all have to wait for Microsoft to come along with a hotfix for the media player?

Thank you all in advance.

i am currently rendering some videos I took with a drone a year ago. Footage looks fine inside of Premiere. But as soon as I go to export ,the footage is wayyy to bright and the whites are blown out massively. Looks like some cheap preset was applied. I dont activate any editing and never experienced this problem before.

Footage was taken with a DJI 2 Pro and my pc setup is fine.

I am pretty sure this is some easy to solve problem with a automated thingy somewhere that I need to uncheck in a box or so. Not using premiere as much as to know what it might be.

any suggestions?

If your colors are blown out you need to check the color management.

All need to be the same.

I dont know why this is included in the post I did not want it to be in there but the question is not about the blown out stuff.

the question is why doesnt the final video play in WMP, only in VLC?

Text does not appear on its own.

Colleague needs to make sure  he/she has Windows up to date.

This has nothing to do with Premiere.

Best is to use vlc or something like potplayer instead of wmp.
