Footage Keeps Going Offline - Can't Import

I'm having an issue that I'm stuck on.

Updated to Premiere 2020, no problem at all. I've been working in it for awhile and with older projects I updated.

I started a batch export through encoder then noticed an error, so I went back to premiere and all my .mov files were offline, but only the .mov shot with the DJI drone. So I researched a solution and the only quick and dirty one I found was to change the file extension to .mp4. So I did and it worked fine. I tried batch export out of encoder and everything was fine. Then I opened the project later and I had the same issue (showing media offline and I can't import those clips.) So I tried moving them to my desktop (I'm on a PC btw) and importing and it worked fine again and I haven't had an issue with that project.

I just opened another project that was totally fine and I did export from a timeline on Friday just fine. Today it shows all the media is offline. So I tried to reconnect, and it says it's an unsupported format (just like the DJI .mov files, except these are .mxf from a canon c300. Same camera and settings I used for other footage in the first project and those are still fine.) Both projects and footage folder live on different drives, both are exFat not mac formatted and everything works fine in After Effects and plays back fine in VLC.

Please help I have no clue why footage is randomly going offline like this and I have several deadlines this week. I can't revert back to 2019 which is a big issue too

Again with this new footage it's only the mxf files that are offline, all the other files are fine including some DJI .mov files. Secondly, I move the footage to a new drive and relink and it's fine.

What kind of drive is messing up your clip connections?

One project is on a LaCie and the other is WD. This is why it's very frustrating, there are so many differences between the situations but, but a similar problem happens. Again it's so weird each time it just selects one specific type of file (.mov from a drone, .mxf from a canon) but then in the next project it's reversed.

Hi Jerry,

Are these projects you updated from a previous version to the current version? If so, try creating a new project and importing the older one into it. Then, see how things work. Please report back after trying this.

Thanks,
Kevin

One is, but the other isn't. I also tried changing the ports on the drives and restarting the computer to no avail.
