Question

For 4k videos are proxies used, and for heavy effects what is used?

When I have a 4k video that runs a little slow (because I don't have a low-mid range fish) I use the proxies and the problem is solved automatically.
But when I drag an effect that I bought, such as those from the AcidBite page, the effects work a little slow for me. Is there a way to prevent that from happening?
These transitions and others work a little slow for me:

To speed things up, do this:

1. Cut the clips in heads and tails, right at the point where the transition takes place. This means rendering will be constrained to just the head and the tail, not the entire clip.

2. Make a keyboard shortcut for Render In to Out. I have it set to CTRL/Command + Enter. Regularly render out the transition portions of these clips.

Hope this helps.

It will also take a bit of time, but if you render the clip, it will play better. Set in/out points and sequence->Render In to out
