Frames repeating after Export (4K footage)

Adobe Premiere Pro vers: 12.1.2 (Build 69)

Processor - Intel(R) Core i7-7700 @ 3.60GHz Quad Core

GPU - Intel (R) HD Graphics 630

RAM - 16GB

I've been editing some 4K footage for work, the video I have been working on is for a hospitality display set up vertically. I have two 4K UHD clips at the top and bottom @ 60fps as well as a 1080p @ 23.976fps in the centre.

The exports played without any issues before, it's only since using an ultra key and colour matte to replace the background of another section of the video that this error has occurred, meaning the videos repeat frames and shudder.

During playback in Premiere it has no issues, just the exported files

They are in 4k UHD 60 fps HEVC (H265) - this file is needed for work

If any extra is required let me know,

Cheers!

Hi benh55248779,

Please provide us a screenshot of the export settings for the 4K  h.265 export with which you are getting the issue.

Also, please try to export in any other format-codec combination and check if you are still getting the issue. You may use QuickTime as Format and GoPro CineForm as Video Codec.

Please let us know if using other format-codec combination works.

Hi,

It's not the GPU, I was recently given an upgraded computer however when I used the OpenCl rendering method it turns the video green/magenta. So have been stuck using Mercury Playback Engine Software Only, it works fine with 1080p exports, only the 4K clips repeat frames and shudder.

Thanks,

Hi benh55248779,

We will need to isolate the possibility of any GPU accelerated renderer error causing the artifacts while exporting. Please try these steps and check if it helps.

  • Open the Premiere project that you are trying to export
  • Then go to File > Project Settings > General
  • Look for Renderer and set that to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only and click ok

Once that's done, then try to export from Premiere Pro and check if it's exporting properly.

You may let us know if switching the renderer helped.
