Freezing and General Performance after changing monitor

I just recently purchased a new 4k 120Hz monitor and ever since I started  using it, my premiere has been completely freezing every time I make the smallest edit such as cutting a clip, I updated to the newest Nvidia game ready drivers for my 3080 and I am not editing anything more demanding than I have been for the past 6 months. Is there something with the newest drivers or something perhaps with premiere running on a 4k monitor?
