Fujifilm X-T3 Premiere Not Importing Files

I just recently purchased the new Fujifilm X-T3 and it is absolutely mindblowing. I went and shot some test footage with it, very excited to cut something quick together and see just how amazing the quality is. However, when I try to import the files into the latest version Premiere Pro it only imports them as audio files...

I'm shooting in 4K, 60FPS, 10 Bit 4.2.2 HEVC 265 at 200mbs

I spoke with an Adobe tech via chat and they said to run the files through Media Encoder, which I did, but that makes me lose quality...I want to be able to edit off the raw file like I would if I were shooting in 264.

This camera has been out for nearly a year now, I'd think there would be a fix for this by now.

Gotcha. Try importing via the Media Browser. So open that window in Premiere and navigate to where those files are located. From there, click and drag the files you want into your Project/Bin window. Files can import weirdly into Premiere if you do File->Import, but that can usually be fixed by using Media Browser instead.

What is your process for importing? Are you using Media Browser, Drag-n-Drop from Finder/Explorer, or Cmd/Crtl+I? Where are you importing from? The SD card, and external drive, or somewhere else?

Just the standard way I do it every time really, file/import directly from the files location on the computer.

    HEVC is of course a highly compressed format. If you transcode to a proper intermediate you won't loose anything but disc space, as the files will be significantly larger.

    Going to Cineform, ProRes or a DNxHd/R flavor can make a much better editing experience. Intraframe codecs are much easier on the computer.

    Sure, I understand that...but I'm more annoyed by the fact that these files aren't importing properly and cannot be edited directly without having to transcode them first.

    If I were to shoot in HEVC 264 it would import just fine. This device has been out long enough and this is such an amazing format for quality that Adobe SHOULD be on top of this and have it import/work properly by now.

      Understand. Do go over to the bug/features link on the Overview page of the forum and search for X-T3 issues and upvote something or create a new post on this.

      Then post back here with the link so people can easily go vote on it.

      Upper management in Adobe is so driven by metrics  ...
