Question

Gaussian Blur 26.5.1 Warning on 1440P Sequence

Working on a 2560x1440 resolution sequence, footage is the same resolution.

I’m applying a simple gaussian blur and I get a warning which reads as the following:

‘Gaussian Blur 26.5.1 Warning - Rendering this 16256 x 9144 frame requires 27217MB. It exceed your total GPU VRAM of 16375 MB. Please reduce the resolution of your footage. (Code 080004)’

For content I’m sporting a NVIDIA RTX 4080 SUPER 16GB and how Premiere is throwing a wobbly over a simple blur effect is perplexing. Anyone else encountered anything like this, as this has only started happening today and I’ve used Gaussian Blur in other projects very recently.

    Hey, @George35602218bt9v,

Thanks for posting. Can you transcode or "render and replace" that clip to the native frame size of your sequence, and then apply the blur? What happens then? Let the community know.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Is this 16256x9144 file a still or a video file?

If it is a still, i would resize it and make it smaller since large images, frame size, cause those issues. When you are applying blur to it is does apply it to 16256x9144 and not the size of the sequence you have, iow 2460x1440. That´s why it happens.

    It’s a .mp4 file

The clip in question is a zoomed in duplicate to serve as a blurred background.
Perhaps it’s still applying it to the full-frame sized clip beyond the monitor hence the warning?
