Question

Generate Static Transcript returns 'No dialogue found' / 'Invalid date remaining' on healthy audio

I have tried a few simple small video clips with English audio. The levels are fine, I tried boosting the audio and no difference. I have the English add-on installed.  Premiere version 26.2.0 (Build 65)

Intel Core Ultra 7, 32 GB ram

64 bit Windows 11 Pro

While Transcribe is running there is a message (Invalid date remaining)

Reinstalled, cleared cache etc.  I see a few others have the same issue and it hasn’t been solved?

@Robb Melancon Are your clips stereo audio from a recorder or camera? For transcription, Premiere first mixes down to mono and if the stereo channels are out of phase they can cancel out when mixed down to mono and then the transcription engine just gets silence (or very close to silence). You can check by exporting one of the clips as Mono out of Premiere, and see if the resulting file has audible audio.

(The “invalid date remaining” is a small bug in the display of time remaining, but doesn’t have anything to do with the “no dialog found” issue)
