Generative Extend + S Log 3 = Muddy pixels on generated frames (is there a workaround?)

When I use generative extend in premiere pro 25.5.0 on a clip shot in S Log 3, the extended part of the clip has a noticable degradation in color. You can instantly see muddy pixels in the image.

(yes, the clip is interpreted as REC 709)

The issue is that I always have my colorist do his work after I'm finished with edits. So the only way to (I assume) make this work is to have him color everything, then re-extend usng the colored clip.

Does anyone know of a better workaround by chance?

Hi @JesseSchluntz - Since generative extend only sends clips back as 8-bit SDR, your best bet is to render out an SDR version of your media before using Generative Extend.  Please see: Generative Extend FAQ
