Question

'Generic Error' when relinking media CS6

Hi All,

Recently had to upgrade to Sierra due to computer failure.

CS6 seems to work fine although my most important project (and not yet finished) will not import the video files when trying to relink. I get a 'generic error' code.

The sound and subtitles are all fine just the video.

Annoying (i guess) a couple of older projects are totally 100%, Murphy's law just the one i need is playing up.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Simon

Had this issue when relinking offline media (r3d file). Solved by uninstalling Premiere (and selecting option to remove preferences) and reinstalling. I deleted all cache and previews beforehand although that alone did not solve the issue for me. It was the reinstall that worked.

I don't have a link (I'm on Windows, not Mac) but I have seen it mentioned that an OLD version of Java must be installed to get an old program (CS6 and earlier) working with your new operating system

    Thanks John,

Now i'm either getting a totally missing media sequence/folder or if i close down and open again it imports the sound and the video files but in green !

it will allow to import but anything is in green.

    Driving me bonkers !
