Getting Certified

Hello, I’ve been using Premiere for almost a year now and feel very comfortable using it (I haven’t fully mastered color correction though.) I do want to get certified in Premiere and After Effects. I plan on taking the Premiere Certification exam in another month or 2. Do you all have any advice or coaching tips that could help? I want to make this a career. Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, and have an awesome day everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

The only place where Certification seems to matter is applying for jobs in schools. As the people doing the hiring have typically no understanding, knowledge, or experience in graphics, video creation or imaging, they like to see some sort of classroom history. Basically, that’s all they know how to quantify ability to do something, is if you have a degree or certification.

Real-world actual knowledge is scoffed at “there”. If you don’t have a pretty paper somewhere ...

    Everyone's mileage always varies ...

I will add that certifications such as this make little difference in the real world. Virtually no one will hire / not hire based on certification. That’s not to discourage you from taking the test, especially if it is free. But I wouldn’t pay a lot of money you don’t have chasing certification.

It’s not free, I just figured it would go a long way when applying for a job with a company or showing that I’m capable from a freelance perspective. I appreciate your input
