I wonder if the team is working on the codec of gh series cameras compatibility with premiere.

Will the video files play smoothly in timeline?

Hi @pavlos_K -  Currently, Premiere Pro Beta version 25.4 now includes H.264/HEVC 10-bit 4:2:2 support for NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, which should work well with your files. You can read more in the article: Now in Beta: Improved support for NVIDIA Blackwell Architecture

Also, starting in version 25.2, we introduced New Color Management Workflows that include support for Panasonic V-Log/V-Gamut and ARRI LogC3/Wide Gamut3 definitely worth checking out if you’re working with those formats.

Let us know if you have any questions.

I' currently editing a feature length documentary.

I have 10bit 4:2:2 footage out from GH5 and soon will have footage from GH7.

I import all the footage in Premiere and link the files to 720p proxies for editing as well as for faster speed (the proxies are in a 4TB SSD).

I plan to buy a new workstation. I currently have a Macbook pro 2017.

Having this workflow what machine do you suggest ?

M4 max macs have a lots of power that might not need.

Is a custom PC build a good idea?

Which specs will work best based on my needs?

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

the biggest minus having MAC is that internal storage is very expensive, also RAM.

If you want PC, buy with intel i9 14900K or intel ultra. Visit Puget Systems site and see the configurations they are offering and copy it 🙂
